Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments following aseptic techniques to maintain a safe clinical environment
- Assist dentists during procedures such as restorations, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments using four-handed dentistry techniques
- Take and develop dental X-rays, including digital imaging and 3D scans, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed
- Manage patient records using Eaglesoft while maintaining HIPAA compliance for patient confidentiality
- Monitor vital signs and medical history to support comprehensive patient care, especially for pediatric patients or those with special needs
- Provide chairside assistance by handing instruments, managing suction devices, and ensuring patient comfort throughout procedures
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist and updating medical documentation accurately
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with a focus on general dentistry.
- Hands-on experience with dental assisting procedures including X-ray taking, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques
- Knowledge of Eaglesoft
- Understanding of anatomy relevant to dentistry and proficiency in operating advanced equipment like 3D scanners and medical imaging devices
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members including dental receptionists, hygienists, and specialists
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of infection control and adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy
