Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our office while providing exceptional care to our patients. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. We are looking for a part time assistant at this time to work Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during various procedures, including general dentistry and endodontics.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment in accordance with infection control protocols.
- Take and develop X-rays as needed, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Utilize 3D scanners for imaging and impressions when necessary.
- Maintain accurate patient records using Dentrix software.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions.
- Manage appointment scheduling and assist with front desk duties as needed, including acting as a dental receptionist.
- Ensure the dental office is clean, organized, and well-stocked with necessary supplies.
- Stay updated on medical terminology and anatomy knowledge relevant to dental practices.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
- Proficiency in using dental software such as Dentrix
- Knowledge of infection control practices and procedures is essential.
- Familiarity with X-ray technology and safety protocols is required.
- Strong understanding of general dentistry principles, endodontics, and anatomy knowledge.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills are highly valued.
