Named after the colorful Mojave Desert flower and inspired by Joshua Tree hideouts, throwback roadside motels, and western nostalgia, Desert 5 Spot is the ultimate watering hole for country music lovers. Downstairs, we’re slangin’ classic Americana dishes, specialty cocktails, frozen margaritas, and cold beers, making this the perfect place where cowboys come together. Featuring daily live performances by emerging country artists and the Desert 5 All Stars band. Upstairs, it’s bull rides, strong pours, DJ-spun country, line dancing lessons and a patio built for boot-stompin’ under the stars. Desert 5 Spot welcomes one and all to leave their tensions and pretensions at the door, put on their boots, and let the good times roll.

Position Summary

Expeditors work to ensure smooth flow between the front and back of house. They set the pace and flow of the kitchen to ensure all dishes are properly prepared and served correctly.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Ensure efficient flow of orders from servers to kitchen.
• Ensure orders are being prepared with the correct priority with all orders ready for a table at the same time.
• Assist in final preparation of dishes.
• Check dishes for accuracy, presentation, and temperature.
• Inquire about any allergy or dietary restrictions from each guest served.
• Provides an accurate description of dishes delivered.
• Possesses in-depth knowledge of all food and beverage menus.
• Ensure adherence with Department of Health and Company sanitation standards.
• Maintaining cleanliness by picking up any debris or spills/grease on the floor.
• Communicate needs of the guests to FOH & BOH staff, managers, and Chefs.
• Mark shared dishes with the appropriate utensils.
• All other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for extended periods.
• Must be able to exert well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously.
• May be required to lift trays of food or food items weighing up to 30 lbs.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.
• Must be able to bend and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be available on Friday & Saturday night.
• This is a part time position.

Skills / Experience

• Previous experience in high-volume restaurants.
• Excellent listener and communicator.
• Ability to focus on guest interaction and multitask.
• Team player and able to anticipate others’ needs.
• Positive Attitude.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays when required.
