Desert 5 Spot brings the rustic allure of Pioneertown and Cosmic Americana to Washington DC. Named after the colorful Mojave Desert flower and inspired by Joshua Tree hideouts, throwback roadside motels, and western nostalgia, Desert 5 Spot is the ultimate watering hole for country music lovers. Downstairs, we’re slangin’ classic Americana dishes, specialty cocktails, frozen margaritas, and cold beers, making this the perfect place where cowboys come together. Featuring daily live performances by emerging country artists and the Desert 5 All Stars band. Upstairs, it’s bull rides, strong pours, DJ-spun country, line dancing lessons and a patio built for boot-stompin’ under the stars. Desert 5 Spot welcomes one and all to leave their tensions and pretensions at the door, put on their boots, and let the good times roll.

Position Summary

Our brunch host is the first person our guests see and interact with. Hosts need to be energetic, outgoing, and professional.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Greet guests with a welcoming smile, and in a professional manner.
• Assist guests to their table.
• Answer phones and take reservations and answer any guest inquiries.
• Give the kitchen and management daily reservation sheet.
• Maintain that menus are clean, current and remove from circulation any menus in poor condition.
• Keep host area clean and organized.
• Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to work brunch service Saturday & Sunday.
• Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for an extended period of time.
• Must be able to exert well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.
• Must be able to bend or lift up to 50 lbs.

Skills/Experience

• Prior host or hotel experience preferred.
• Excellent listener & communicator.
• Ability to focus on guest interaction and multitask.
• Team player and able to anticipate other's needs.
• Understands sequence of service and coursing.
• Positive Attitude.
• Food Handlers card up to date.
