DMBA (Deseret Mutual Benefit Administrators) is a non-profit organization that administers benefits for companies who are owned or affiliated with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
We are seeking a detail-oriented accounting clerk to join our amazing accounting team. This role plays a critical part in our accounts receivable and accounts payable processes. The ideal candidate has expertise in recording and processing insurance premium payments and billing adjustments. This position reports to the Accounting Manager and works closely with others on our accounting and customer service teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and record payments from customers and participants.
- Process billing adjustments as needed.
- Prepare, Input and update journal entries, transactions, and master records in accounting systems.
- Perform accounting reconciliations and identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare, review, and maintain accounting reports and ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Respond to customer and internal inquiries regarding accounting transactions and payments in a courteous and professional manner.
- Process and record payments to vendors and participants
- Process employee reimbursements
- Review procedures and recommend process improvements.
- Complete monthly close tasks for multiple entities as assigned.
- Perform other duties assigned by leadership.
Qualifications:
- 2-4 years related experience, 4 years (Senior).
- College education is preferred but not required.
- Experience with health insurance premium billing, accounts payable and related systems (Amisys, Concur, Sage Intacct or similar systems preferred). Extremely organized and is very attentive to detail.
- Ability to work independently and also thrives in a collaborative environment.
- Highly organized with follow-through on commitments and projects
- Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office products
