About the Role
Descope is looking for a technical and driven Developer Relations Engineer to help shape how developers and AI agents securely authenticate and access digital services.
This role sits at the intersection of engineering, product, and community. You will work hands on with developers across the full lifecycle from evaluation and prototyping to production deployments, while also contributing to the evolution of our platform.
With a focus on the emerging space of Agentic AI, you will play a key role in defining how modern authentication and authorization systems adapt to autonomous and AI driven workflows.
What You’ll Do
- Partner with developers to support evaluation, integration, and production use of Descope
- Lead technical implementations and POCs, guiding customers through architecture, design, and troubleshooting
- Advocate for developers by gathering feedback and working closely with Product and Engineering to influence the roadmap
- Focus on Agentic AI use cases, helping define secure patterns for authentication and authorization in AI driven systems
- Build and maintain SDKs, sample applications, and integrations that simplify adoption, especially in AI agent workflows
- Create high quality technical content including documentation, guides, demos, blogs, and videos
- Contribute to open source projects and integrations across platforms and ecosystems
- Plan and deliver developer focused events such as workshops, webinars, hackathons, and conference talks
- Engage with the community across channels such as Slack, forums, GitHub, and developer platforms
- Support product launches with clear, practical technical enablement for developers
What We’re Looking For
- 5 years of experience in Developer Relations, Solutions Engineering, or a similar technical, customer facing role
- Strong software engineering background with hands on coding experience
- Proficiency in JavaScript (React, Node.js, Next.js) and experience with additional languages such as Python or Go
- Experience supporting developers through integrations, onboarding, and production deployments
- Solid understanding of authentication and authorization concepts (AuthN/AuthZ) and modern identity systems
- Experience working with AI systems or agent based workflows, with familiarity in relevant protocols such as MCP
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly
- Proven experience creating technical content including documentation, demos, tutorials, or sample apps
- Ability to work cross functionally with Product, Engineering, and Marketing teams
Nice to Have
- Experience contributing to open source projects or developer ecosystems
- Background in identity, security, or authentication platforms
- Experience speaking at conferences or leading technical workshops
- Familiarity with SDK design, APIs, and developer tooling
