Role Overview:
As our Technical Lead in NA, you will serve as the technical interface between our NA or SA customers and development teams (mostly in China), with a primary focus on understanding the customers’ needs and supporting technical discussions and issues. Your role is to deeply engage with the customers to deliver the products and services they need and build a stronger relationship with them, extracting key insights, and ensuring our technical teams in China are aligned and prepared to deliver the right product and value to our customers.
This role is ideal for someone who has deep experience with automotive electronics, especially displays, cameras, and IVI/ADAS domain controllers and who can clearly communicate requirements and issue internally and externally in English and Chinese.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Requirements and Customer Support
- Develop a deep understanding of customers’ technical needs during quotation phase, development phase, and post-SOP support.
- Support customer technical requirement analysis at RFI/RFQ phase together with global development team.
- Lead customer technical meetings introducing new products, technologies, or project management / open issue discussions.
- Support on-site analysis or vehicle builds as necessary with remote support of main technical teams
- Support customer visits or inter-company visits to the US or in some cases to other sites such as Mexico, China, etc.
- Help cultivate deep relationships across a wide range of customers and technical products.
- Drive internal alignment on customer technical expectations, timelines, and product direction.
- Act as the voice of the customer inside our organization, advocating for their needs and helping resolve technical or communication misalignments.
- Act as the voice of Desay to the customer, helping them understand our motivations and needs.
- Facilitate and sometimes lead from working-level to high-level meetings, ensuring clear objectives, follow-ups, and progress tracking.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in the automotive electronics industry, ideally with experience working with displays, cameras, and IVI/ADAS domain controllers.
- Bilingual English/Chinese
- Strong understanding of automotive development processes, especially with displays, cameras, and IVI/ADAS domain controllers.
- Ability to communicate complex technical topics across cultural and organizational boundaries.
- Based in Detroit, Michigan area (Troy), with the ability to travel occasionally (including internationally). 4-5 days a week in-office, 1 day remote work with approval, and able to take evening or morning calls.
