Job Summary:
Desapro is seeking an ambitious Applications Engineer in Rockledge, Florida! The Applications Engineer serves as the technical bridge between customers and internal teams. This role is responsible for reviewing customer requirements, developing product concepts, and developing accurate quotes in a high-mix, high-variety metal fabrication environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and quotes for custom products
- Review customer requirements to develop practical product solutions
- Develop concepts, layouts, and preliminary designs for custom aluminum case solutions
- Support quoting and estimating efforts and concept costing
- Interpret and analyze blueprints, CAD models, and technical documentation
- Work closely with engineering, production, and estimating teams to ensure manufacturability
- Utilize ERP systems to support quoting
- Provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle, from concept through production
- Communicate effectively with customers to clarify requirements and present solutions
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred
- Experience in manufacturing, applications engineering, or design engineering
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD software
- Understanding of metal fabrication or manufacturing processes preferred
- Experience working with an ERP system
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working with technical data
- Excellent communication and customer-facing skills
- High attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities
- Ability to thrive in a high-mix, high-variety production environment
