OVERVIEW
DeSales University, in Center Valley, PA, is a private, coeducational, four-year liberal arts Salesian, Catholic university, under the leadership of the Oblates of Saint Francis de Sales. Founded in 1965, the 550-acre suburban campus is located 50 miles north of Philadelphia and about 90 miles southwest of New York City. A total enrollment of nearly 3,500 includes undergraduate day and evening students, and graduate students. DeSales has approximately 135 full-time faculty members and offers more than 40 bachelor's degrees, twelve graduate programs, and over 20 certificate programs in a wide range of disciplines; many of these can be completed fully online.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Graduate Assistant for the Office of Student Engagement and Leadership is a 10-month (August 1 - May 31) position renewable for two years of service, with a maximum of a one-year extension, (contingent upon performance in the position and continued graduate enrollment in a DeSales University graduate program). The Graduate Assistant will serve as the coordinator of specific programs under the Office of Student Engagement and Leadership. The Graduate Assistant should demonstrate support and contribution to the mission of the University by their life within the DeSales community. The position is live-in and requires additional evening/weekend work. Compensation includes a stipend, furnished apartment for 12 months (with renewal of contract), full meal plan while undergraduate classes are in session, and tuition remission for up to 18 credits per academic year at DeSales University.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Acceptance into and continued enrollment in a DeSales University graduate program required. Preference will be given to those in the Higher Education, MBA, Criminal Justice, and MFA programs.
- Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record required
- Previous student activities, student engagement, student event planning, and student leadership is required
- An appreciation for the University’s Catholic and liberal arts traditions required
- Excellent verbal and writing skills and strong organizational abilities
- Experience with online programs such as Canva and social media platforms strongly preferred.
