What are the responsibilities and job description for the Athletics Facilities Summer Staff position at Des Moines Christian School?
Purpose of PositionThe Athletic Facilities Summer Staff will assist DMC Activities and Operations by performing athletic groundskeepingand facility maintenance. This position serves DMC athletics programs by ensuring that all athletic facilities arewell-maintained and prepared for practices and competitions. This position will work both independently andcollaboratively alongside the Athletic Facilities Manager, DMC Operations, and other Athletic Facilities Summer Staff.Position: Seasonal position for Summer 2026 Approximately 25-35 hours per week. Work hours will be scheduled mornings, afternoons, and some evenings asneeded based on the athletic event schedule.

Must be able to stand or walk for eight hours a day, frequent heavy lifting of 50 pounds, climbing, stooping,bending, kneeling, and reaching. Provides responsive and positive support to students, families, and coworkers.Responsibilities: Performance routine field maintenance on baseball/softball facilities, including but not limited to leveling, dragging,painting, repairs, etc. Assists in the field preparation for before and after practices and games. Assists in baseball and softball game day operations set-up and tear-down, including tickets, concessions, soundequipment, and other necessary items. Mows baseball and softball grass outfields in accordance with mowing schedule set by Athletic Facilities Manager.
Coordinates weekly and monthly turf maintenance on synthetic field turf at Lions Field football/soccer complex. Operates equipment such as utility vehicles, field rakes, and lawn mowers to complete assigned tasks safely andefficiently. Supports the Athletic Facilities Manager with other projects and general maintenance tasks throughout DMCsindoor and outdoor athletic facilities.
