Gameday Digital Media Intern
Position Overview
The Des Moines Buccaneers are seeking a creative and energetic Gameday Digital
Media Intern to assist with content creation during home games throughout the
season. This position will play a key role in capturing engaging photo and video
content from around the arena, helping bring the Buccaneers game day experience
to life across social media platforms.
Responsibilities
• Capture photo and video content during Buccaneers home games, including:
o On-ice action
o Fan experiences
o In-game promotions and entertainment
o Sponsor activations
o Theme nights and special events
o Behind-the-scenes moments
• Identify and capture social-first content opportunities in real time.
• Work alongside the Digital Media Coordinator to execute game day content
plans.
• Assist with gathering content for Instagram Stories, Reels, TikTok, X, Facebook,
and other digital platforms.
• Help ensure key game moments, fan interactions, and promotional activities
are documented.
• Organize and upload content following games as needed.
• Contribute creative ideas for game day content and fan engagement.
Qualifications
• Currently enrolled in a college or university program majoring in sports media,
communications, marketing, journalism, digital media, or a related field.
• Strong interest in sports, social media, and content creation.
• Ability to work all Des Moines Buccaneers home games, including nights,
weekends, and holidays.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, live event environment.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently while taking initiative to identify content
opportunities.
• Positive attitude and willingness to collaborate as part of a team.
Preferred Skills
• Basic knowledge of social media trends and short-form content.
• Experience with sports content production.
• Knowledge of hockey is not required, but is a plus.
• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud or similar editing software.
