4855 - 30601 - Lab Specialist
Monday - Friday (8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.)
Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology or related field (no lab experience required); or Associate’s degree in Microbiology or related field w/minimum 1 year lab experience and/or training; or High school (GED) w/minimum 5yrs lab experience and/or training with emphasis on Microbiology.
Job Duties:
Perform necessary functions, including testing and analysis of results at various stages to ensure and maintain high quality and sterility of materials and products
Perform Bioburden Analysis, Bioburden Recovery testing and setting Plate Enumeration.
Perform Microbial Characterization by evaluation of test cultures.
Perform packaging testing.
Monitor and control accelerated aging projects.
Monitor and control Inventory of consumable stock for all lab areas.
Perform other specialized test processes associated with the Microbiology Laboratory.
Assist with Biological Indicator Sterility testing.
Maintain adequate stock of biological/reagent supplies used in Microbiology laboratory processes.
Update and maintain required records and files in a timely manner.
Perform facility cleaning and/or sanitation, as required.
Participate in Quality Improvement Committee meetings.
Perform calibration and routine maintenance of lab equipment.
Participate in applicable facility-wide safety/hazardous communications training.
