DePre is actively searching for a Process Technician to join our team in Powell, TN. This role will likely work 5:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. but may fluctuate depending.

SUMMARY: This position works directly with all phases of machine operation including startup, operation and maintenance of machines, automated conveying systems, auxiliary equipment, air compressors, and robotic parts removal.
This position could require a rotating 24/7 on-call shift for emergencies requiring to be onsite within one hour. This schedule could cause the Process Technician to work nights, weekend, or holidays.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Conduct all operations in accordance with safety requirements.
Demonstrates basic National Electrical Code understanding.
Can start all plant equipment from a cold shutdown, including production machines, robots, chillers, air compressors, material handlers/conveying equipment, air conditioning units, and the process monitoring system.
Ensures that assigned machines are operating within established parameter and control limits and that parts conform to established specifications.
Performs minor tooling maintenance and repairs.
Troubleshoots, repairs, replaces and calibrates production equipment as required. Troubleshoot electrical sensors including: photoelectric, inductive, capacitive, magnetic, pressure, temperature, weight and position sensors.
Make wiring/programming changes on all production equipment as required.
Performs electrical and machine preventative maintenance at scheduled intervals as assigned.
Ensures all facets of the quality and manufacturing systems are followed and adhered to.
Identifies problems and isolates them to specific components through test, observations or other criteria.
Assists Production, Maintenance, Process and Project Engineers to meet daily priorities, coverage, and special projects.
Assists in equipment installations, project preparations, and project completion.
Maintains a clean work area and follows proper safety procedures.
Arrives at work on time and complies with company attendance and tardiness policies.
Possess ability to get along with co-workers, customers, and company visitors.
Performs other duties assigned by Management.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Associates Degree in Electronics or related field preferred; Technical School Certificate with 1-2 years’ experience in machine maintenance or mechanical aptitude; or High school diploma with 2-3 years technical or machine maintenance experience; or a combination of education and experience and/or training. One to three years of previous industrial experience preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:Ability to read and understand complex instructions such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
REASONING ABILITY:Ability to carry out detailed, complex oral or written instructions. Ability to apply problem solving techniques to address complex issues.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Understand machine functions and troubleshoot effectively. Requires personal computer skills including specific controls programming software and basic email, word processing and spreadsheet applications. Needs to have fundamental knowledge of electrical theory and principles of operation. Should have advanced knowledge of all controller-based hardware and software. This position also requires good communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and hearing protection is required on the manufacturing floor unless posted otherwise.
Due to the nature of the materials used in the facility, provided hairnets must be worn at all times on the manufacturing floor. Most jewelry, false fingernails and fingernail polish (even clear coat) are prohibited. Beard covers, if applicable, may be required. Protective eyewear is required to be worn at all times when entering the work environment.
