What are the responsibilities and job description for the Deli Counter Clerk position at DeRomo's Gourmet Market?
DeRomo's Gourmet Market and Restaurant is hiring a Deli Counter Clerk! Come be a part of our family!
Schedule: Sunday - Wednesday 12PM - 6:30PM
Primary Responsibilities:
- Service customers over the counter, displaying courtesy and suggestive selling techniques
- Slicing of cold cuts on the slicer, cutting/wrapping of meat and seafood
- Weighing, wrapping and pricing of merchandise using proper tare: and proper storage of merchandise and supplies
- Follow opening and closing procedures which includes turning of salads, refilling of salads and other products, and preparation and presentation of salads including garnishment
- Maintain department sanitation, which includes cleaning cases, glass, mirrors and counters, utensils, sweep and mop floors, break down, clean, and sanitize the slicers
- Follow safety and health regulations at all times which includes proper use of equipment, wearing gloves, hats, proper refrigeration and temperature, and sanitation
- Any additional functions as assigned by the department manager or store manager
- Assist any department when recognized or called upon to do so

Required Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience as a deli clerk
- Good customer courtesy and communication skills
- Knowledge of all cuts of meat and knowledge of proper shrink control
- Able to handle cleaning and lifting
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Able to follow written and verbal assignments in English.
- Displays a high level of integrity and reliability
- Able to maintain company dress code standards
- Must be able to lift and carry 20 lbs. regularly and 75 lbs. occasionally
- Stand and walk for extended periods of time
