Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Veterinary Receptionist to join our team at Dermatology Pet Care. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for clients and their pets, providing exceptional customer service while supporting the clinical team with administrative and technical tasks. This role requires excellent communication skills, animal handling knowledge, and familiarity with veterinary terminology to ensure smooth clinic operations and outstanding pet care.
Responsibilities
- Greet clients and their pets warmly, ensuring a positive experience from arrival to departure
- Schedule appointments, manage client records, and handle phone inquiries efficiently
- Collect payments, handle invoices and process various types of payment, end of day reports, and closing of books
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area and treatment rooms following aseptic techniques
- Support veterinary staff with animal restraint, handling, and basic animal care procedures
Qualifications
- Previous experience in veterinary reception or related roles is required
- You are a dependable team player that your fellow staff members can rely on
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal restraint techniques, and laboratory procedures
- Strong communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive client interactions professionally
- Excellent clerical skills and multi-tasking abilities, including handling multiple phone lines, emails, text messages, and in-person communication
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
