GAP Year -Full Time Medical Assistant
Dermatology Consultants at Newton-Wellesley, a respected three-provider dermatology private practice located on the Newton-Wellesley Hospital campus, seeks a GAP Year -Medical Assistant for at least 2 years to join our caring, professional team. Initial responsibilities include assisting patients in rooms, obtaining medical history, assisting with office surgery, room, and equipment cleanup, notifying patients of biopsy results, stocking supplies, prescription refills, documentation in the computer medical record system, and other related duties. The candidate must be able to type words and numbers quickly, accurately, and proficiently. He/She should able to listen to complex medical information and summarize in a clear, complete, and concise fashion. Excellent English composition skills are required to generate professional, polished writing at a high rate of production.
The ideal candidate has a minimum of 1 year of directly related experience. The candidate should enjoy working with patients, should be an effective communicator, and will need to be organized, efficient, and attentive to detail. This is a small office, and over time this position will also involve working in the front office covering patient check-in/out, telephones, appointment booking, and related office duties.
