Work Environment: The job would require working closely with our providers and other staff to provide the most comprehensive care possible to our patients. Dermatology Associates is a fast-paced, well-lit, comfort controlled and high traffic medical office.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for assisting the physician in the care of patients to assure optimal medical care.
- Keeps appointments flowing smoothly to assure all patients are seen in a timely manner. Assists with keeping the physician’s schedule well-managed
- Posts daily patient schedule and keeps physician informed of appointments
- Greet and escorts patient to treatment room
- Take and/or update patient’s history in EMR as appropriate. This includes but not limited to any complaint, family history, and drug allergies
- Prepares (as trained) patients for dermatologic exam/procedure
- Assists (as trained) physician in exam/procedure(s)
- Responsible for patient education.
- Performs injections/local anesthesia.
- Applies dressing changes and performs suture/staple removals
- Promptly responds to any physician request
- Observes sterilization guidelines
- Prepares exam room for next patient (includes cleaning, stocking, and setting up instruments)
- Responds to emergency situations confidently and professionally
- Accurately enters patient’s exam, impression, and plans into EMR.
- Performs appropriate diagnostic lab procedures including specimen collection, preparation, and storage, etc.
- Records accurate and complete patient information on lab requisition forms, specimen containers, and in the EMR
- Documents all questions, requests, and answers in patient’s EMR.
- Maintains a clean and organized work area
- Calls prescriptions into the pharmacy and accurately e-Prescribe
Required Credentials: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA); Registered Medical Assistant (RMA); Licensed Practical Nurse License (LPN); Registered Nurse (RN); Maintain CPR certification.
Starting Pay Rate:
- RNs: Starting pay rate is $21/hr
- LPNs: Starting pay rate is $18/hr
- RMAs/CMAs: Starting pay rate is $16/hr
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $21.00 per hour
