Job Summary
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of coding systems, medical terminology, revenue cycle management and the intricacies of medical office operations.
Responsibilities
- Process medical billing and collections efficiently while ensuring accuracy in coding.
- Utilize medical coding systems such as ICD-10 for accurate coding
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure the proper documentation of patient care.
- Manage data entry into electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant databases (we utilize Athena Collector for our practice management EMR)
- Assist in the development and implementation of health information policies and procedures.
- Stay updated on changes in healthcare regulations affecting health information management.
- Review EOBs and ensure claims are processed per insurance regulations and in compliance with coding and insurance contracts
Skills
- Proficient knowledge of coding practices, including ICD-10 and relevant surgical modifiers
- Experience in medical office operations, including billing and collections processes.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with healthcare professionals and patients.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and other health information technologies.
