Billing and coding are performed in Athena collector. Prior experience with Athena is not required but prior experience with other EMRs (ie eCW, Epic, NextGen) is required.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the accounts receivable team to ensure accurate and efficient billing, collections, and follow-up processes.
- Monitor aging reports regularly to identify overdue accounts and develop strategies for prompt resolution.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative departments to resolve billing discrepancies and denials swiftly.
- Implement best practices for claims submission, payment posting, and reconciliation to maximize revenue recovery.
- Analyze billing trends and develop actionable insights to improve collection rates and reduce days in accounts receivable.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, payer policies, and privacy standards such as HIPAA.
- Provide training, coaching, and performance feedback to team members to foster continuous improvement.
