Join Our Dermatology Team

Dermatology & Allergy Specialists of Olympia (DASO) is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to join our dermatology team.

For 25 years, DASO has been a trusted part of the Olympia community. As a locally operated private medical practice, we are proud to provide personalized, high-quality dermatology and allergy care while maintaining the close-knit, team-oriented environment that has been an important part of our practice for decades.

We are looking for someone who is dependable, motivated, compassionate, and eager to learn. Previous dermatology experience is a plus, but it is not required. We are happy to provide specialty training to the right candidate and, for qualified candidates who are not currently credentialed, may assist with obtaining a Washington Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential.

If you enjoy hands-on patient care, learning new skills, staying busy, and working closely with providers and coworkers, dermatology may be a great fit for you.

What You'll Do

Our Medical Assistants are an essential part of the patient experience and work closely alongside our dermatology providers throughout the day.

Responsibilities include:

  • Greeting and rooming patients while providing a welcoming, professional experience
  • Obtaining and documenting patient histories and other required clinical information
  • Obtaining vital signs and measurements as appropriate
  • Preparing patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments
  • Assisting providers with dermatologic examinations and in-office procedures
  • Preparing examination and procedure rooms between patients
  • Cleaning and sanitizing exam rooms and workstations
  • Cleaning and processing medical instruments according to established protocols
  • Assisting with pathology-related documentation and workflow
  • Communicating with providers and other members of the clinical team
  • Scheduling appointments and procedures as needed
  • Completing clinical and administrative tasks necessary to support excellent patient care

Once you have mastered the fundamentals of the position, you will also have the opportunity to cross-train in medical scribing and expand your dermatology knowledge and responsibilities. Candidates with previous scribing experience are encouraged to let us know during the interview process.
