Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
- Prepare treatment rooms with sterilized instruments and ensure all equipment is functioning properly.
- Take and develop dental X-rays and operate advanced imaging tools such as 3D scanners to aid in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic while maintaining HIPAA compliance to protect patient privacy.
- Provide chairside assistance by handling dental materials, managing suction devices, and supporting four-handed dentistry techniques yfor efficiency.
- Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and explain dental terminology clearly.
- Uphold strict infection control standards through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures to ensure a safe environment for everyone
Requirements
- Proven experience working in a dental clinic setting with knowledge of dental assisting procedures and terminology.
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic; experience with medical coding and records management is a plus.
- Strong understanding of infection control protocols, aseptic technique, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology related to dentistry.
- Ability to perform X-ray imaging accurately and operate advanced diagnostic tools like 3D scanners.
- Excellent communication skills as a dental receptionist or front desk assistant are beneficial for patient interactions.
