Job description for Welder/Fabricator
Description:
Derecktor is looking for an experienced welder/ fabricator to join our team. Candidates must be able to perform layout, fabrication and welding of piping systems. They should also be able to assemble, install, repair, and maintain marine hydraulic plumbing, pipe systems and structural components. For this position, you must have the ability to read and understand blueprints, select proper materials, equipment and tools to complete projects. Derecktor is known for quality repairs, refits and fabrication as well as new construction divisions. You will work in a dynamic environment and collaborate with a team of professionals dedicated to delivering high-quality projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
These shall include, but not necessarily be limited to the following:
Must be able to perform the following welding processes to an International Class Standard in 3G(plate), 4G(plate) and 6G(pipe) positions
SMAW/Steel
FCAW/Steel
GMAW/Aluminum & Steel
GTAW/Aluminum & Steel
Will read and understand drawings and weld symbols
Adhere to safety protocols and industry standards to ensure a safe working environment.
Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine welding specifications.
Prepare and clean surfaces prior to welding to ensure proper adhesion and strength.
Lay out, fabricate and assemble structural vessel components.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience in welding stainless steels, carbon/stainless, CuNi piping
OSHA Safety Training (10 or 30 hour)
Must be able to follow instructions, written and/or verbal, with little or no supervision.
Required Qualifications:
MUST have experience in ALUMINUM and STEEL welding in a shipyard environment
MUST have experience in ALUMINUM and STEEL fitting
MUST have experience in repairing vessel hull plating and structural members
Experience working in a shipyard/ship repair environment
Pass an internal welding test in steel and aluminum
Ability to read and understand drawings and welding symbols
High attention to detail and safety
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Must pass a drug test and background check
