COMMERCIAL DIVER
Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Diver to support haul and launch operations in a busy shipyard environment. The diver will be responsible for underwater inspections, vessel positioning, securing boats during lift and launch operations, and assisting with emergency recovery efforts. This role requires strong diving expertise, attention to detail, and collaboration with the Haul & Launch team to ensure safe and efficient operations. The Marine Diver will also work closely with the Naval Architect to provide critical underwater assessments that support vessel stability, hull integrity, and lift operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
These shall include, but not necessarily be limited to the following:
Perform underwater inspections of vessels before and after haul-out and launch.
Assist in positioning, securing, and stabilizing boats during lifting and launching procedures.
Conduct underwater assessments of hull conditions, running gear, seacocks, and other submerged components.
Collaborate with the Naval Architect to assess vessel stability, structural integrity, and lift configurations.
Work closely with the Haul & Launch team to attach slings, guide vessels, and ensure correct weight distribution.
Identify and report underwater obstructions, hazards, or structural issues that may impact lifting operations.
Perform propeller, shaft, rudder, and hull maintenance when required.
Support emergency vessel recovery and salvage operations if necessary.
Maintain and inspect diving equipment regularly to ensure safety and compliance with industry standards.
Follow all safety protocols, shipyard procedures, and environmental regulations.
This position requires travel between the Dania and Fort Pierce locations to carry out assigned responsibilities.
Assist with general yard operations when not performing diving tasks.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Certified Commercial Diver (ADC, IMCA, or equivalent preferred).
SCUBA and Surface Supplied Air Diver certifications required.
First Aid, CPR, and Oxygen Provider Certification required.
OSHA and HAZMAT training preferred.
Minimum 10 years of experience in marine diving, vessel maintenance, or shipyard operations.
Strong knowledge of vessel structures, hull integrity, and marine systems.
Understanding of shipyard safety regulations and diving protocols.
Ability to work in various weather and water conditions, including low visibility.
Physically fit with the ability to lift and maneuver heavy equipment.
