What are the responsibilities and job description for the Group Fitness Instructor position at Derby Recreation Commission?
Who We Are Looking For:
The Fitness Instructor is under the direct supervision of the Fitness Coordinator and Director and is responsible for the organization and instruction of adult and youth fitness programs.
What Winning As A Fitness Instructor Looks Like:
- To coordinate and develop an exercise program on the dates and times assigned by the Fitness Director and Coordinator.
- Take an accurate daily attendance report to be turned in on the proper form.
- Make recommendations for the improvement of the program to the Fitness Director and Coordinator.
- Work all dates pertaining to the fitness program.
- Carry out all duties assigned by the Fitness Coordinator and Director relating to the program.
- Insure that facilities and equipment are properly maintained and assure proper order after every class.
- Carry out all duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Attend all training and workshops assigned by Fitness Coordinator and Director.
Essential Job Requirements:
EDUCATION: High School diploma preferred. Preferred instructor certification through a national organization.
EXPERIENCE: Some experience preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to demonstrate range of exercises for participants and administer Adult CPR.
Qualifications:
Should have proper knowledge of exercise programs. She/he should be energetic and proficient in the promotion of a progressive program. Must be 18 and have a valid driver’s license. Should maintain CPR/PR and First Aide certifications. Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
