Job Duties
Schedule: Rotating 6:00am-2:30pm and11:30am-8:00pm.
5 days a week and every other weekend. (including holidays)
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assist with preparing and serving meals according to planned menus and resident diet orders.
- Maintain food safety standards during meal service.
- Deliver meals to residents in kitchenettes or individual rooms as needed.
- Complete and record daily temperature logs
- Set up meal trays, dining areas, and prep stations in a clean and organized manner.
- Wash dishes, sanitize work areas, and maintain kitchen cleanliness in accordance with health regulations.
- Follow special diet requirements, including texture‑modified and physician‑ordered diets.
- Assist with stocking food and supplies, rotating inventory, and monitoring expiration dates.
- Provide exceptional customer service to residents, families, and staff.
- Communicate any dietary concerns, questions, or changes in resident needs to the supervisor.
- Support the dietary team in maintaining a safe, efficient, and compliant kitchen environment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines (SERV Safe standards)
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift items in a fast‑paced environment.
- Prior experience in food service or healthcare dietary settings preferred but not required.
Additional Considerations
Previous long-term care, geriatric or hospital experience preferred but not required.
