Public Affairs plays a vital role in advancing the agency’s priorities and strengthening relationships with elected officials, government agencies, community leaders, and other key stakeholders. The team is responsible for developing and executing intergovernmental engagement strategies that promote the agency’s initiatives, facilitate coordination across government, and ensure the agency is responsive to the needs and priorities of its external partners. Through strategic outreach, relationship management, and stakeholder engagement, Public Affairs helps position the agency as a trusted partner and effective resource within city government.
The Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS) seeks to hire one (1) laborer to work within the ceremonial unit. This unit falls under the Special Events unit. The DCAS ceremonial unit supports all Mayoral, agency, and city sponsored events throughout the five boroughs.
Responsibilities of a laborer working at DCAS include but may not be limited to:
- Under immediate supervision, performs common unskilled laboring work requiring physical strength.
- Moves, lifts, and carries items of various weights and sizes.
- May utilize hand or power-driven equipment in the performance of duties.
- Required to operate motor vehicles in connection with the performance of duties.
- Must have the ability to follow verbal directions and/or coaching to execute assigned tasks on schedule.
- Ability to learn from directions, observations, and apply procedures with good judgement.
- Capable of working on a team and independently; ability to work with others appropriately.
