- Perform DOT annual inspections and preventative maintenance on chemical tanker trailers
- Diagnose and repair air brake systems, ABS systems, and suspension components
- Inspect and repair tanker barrel integrity, baffles, weld seams, and structural components
- Service and repair valves, manways, gaskets, vapor recovery systems, and discharge systems
- Perform pressure/vacuum testing and leak detection
- Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems (if equipped)
- Conduct aluminum and stainless-steel welding/fabrication as needed
- Maintain proper documentation of inspections and repairs
- Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and hazmat regulations
- Maintain safe shop practices and follow OSHA guidelines
- 3 years of heavy-duty trailer or tanker mechanic experience preferred
- Knowledge of DOT tanker requirements and hazmat regulations
- Experience working on chemical or food-grade tankers strongly preferred
- Welding experience (TIG/MIG preferred for stainless/aluminum)
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in shop/outdoor environments
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred)
