The Senior Director of Compliance will implement programs to ensure compliance with all environmental regulations and process safety programs. The role will be directing a team supporting centralized reporting, permitting, compliance activities, and processes.
The position requires up to 50% travel.

Duties
- Support development and implementation of the enterprise Environmental Management System (ISO-like)
- Design and implement a comprehensive compliance verification program in accordance with Federal, State, Local, and Provincial laws and company policies
- Develop enterprise goals, targets, and objectives to advise senior leadership of performance and set direction for environmental and process safety programs.
- Knowledge of applicable environmental laws, regulations and work practices with hazardous chemicals.
- Prepare permits and compliance programs for multiple environmental media, including air, wastewater, stormwater, waste, spill prevention and storage tanks, EPCRA (Tier II, TRI)
- Knowledge and experience with EPA risk management plan, OSHA process safety management, UK COMAH, EU Seveso directives.
- Perform multi-media environmental compliance audits, gap assessments, inspections, and program reviews; prepare compliance key performance indicator reports for executive management review.
- Develop and support implementation and management of various monitoring and spill prevention and contingency plans/programs (SPCC, SWPPP, Hazardous Waste Contingency Plans, etc.)
- Experienced with interpreting environmental reports and testing data in connection with operations and best management practices.
- Experience developing, implementing, and sustaining process safety programs and risk minimization and control.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local air regulations with emphasis on the Clean Air Act, including New Source Review/Prevention of Significant Deterioration, National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants, New Source Performance Standards, Title V Permitting, PFAS
- Support Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), and Toxic Substance Control Act (TSCA), and the Department of Transportation (DOT) hazmat shipment requirements.
- Implement and participate in corporate M&A activity providing guidance, expertise and research when needed.
- Bachelor's Degree in related discipline (engineering or sciences)
- Minimum of 15 years of industrial experience with chemicals focus
- Prefer experience in oil & gas or chemical industries
- Working knowledge of applicable standards promulgated by EPA, OSHA, UK HSE, EU, and other regulatory authorities
- Strong ability to organize work, set priorities, work independently and make productive use of time.
- Adaptability - Ability to accept changes in the work environment manages competing demands. Effectively lead a program and team.
