We are seeking a highly skilled Used Auto Sales Service Comptroller to oversee financial operations and ensure compliance within our automotive dealership. Duties
- Manage and oversee all accounting functions related to used auto sales and service operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger accounting.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, including balance sheet reconciliation, account analysis, and regulatory filings in accordance with GAAP, IFRS, SOX, and other relevant standards.
- Ensure compliance with governmental regulations and industry standards such as GAAP, IFRS, and specific non-profit or governmental accounting requirements if applicable.
- Conduct cash management activities, including forecasting, budgeting, and monitoring cash flow to support operational needs.
- Perform detailed account reconciliation processes using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms.
- Support financial concepts such as double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and general ledger reconciliation to maintain accurate financial records.
- Assist with financial report writing for internal management and external regulatory agencies.
- Oversee payroll processing and ensure accurate recording of payroll expenses in accordance with applicable laws.
- Collaborate with auditors during audits related to financial management and regulatory reporting.
- Implement best practices in financial analysis to support strategic decision-making within the dealership.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of accounting standards including GAAP, IFRS, SOX compliance, and governmental or non-profit accounting if relevant.
- Proficiency in financial software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms for effective financial management.
- Strong understanding of cash management strategies, budgeting processes, and forecasting techniques.
- Experience with account reconciliation procedures and balance sheet reconciliation processes.
- Ability to prepare comprehensive financial reports with clarity and accuracy.
- Excellent analytical skills with a solid grasp of financial concepts like double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and general ledger accounting.
- Familiarity with regulatory reporting requirements for automotive dealerships or related industries.
- Effective communication skills for report writing and collaboration across departments.
