Dependable Hospice is seeking a compassionate and organized Hospice Volunteer Coordinator to recruit, train, and support volunteers who provide companionship and comfort to patients and families during one of life's most meaningful journeys.

What You'll Do

• Recruit volunteers through community outreach, events, schools, churches, and local organizations.
• Interview, screen, and onboard new volunteers.
• Coordinate volunteer orientation and ongoing education.
• Match volunteers with patients based on location, availability, and patient needs.
• Provide guidance, encouragement, and ongoing support to volunteers.
• Maintain volunteer records, schedules, training, and documentation.
• Track volunteer hours and ensure compliance with hospice regulations.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary hospice team to meet patient needs.
• Continually develop and improve the volunteer program.

We're Looking For Someone Who Has

• Experience in hospice, volunteer coordination, healthcare, social services, or a related field preferred.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
• Compassion, empathy, and professionalism when working with patients, families, and volunteers.
• Knowledge of hospice philosophy is a plus.
