Job Listing: Customer Service Call Center Agent & Reception Location: Los Angeles, CA Job Category: Administrative Support Position Type: Full Time FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Department: Customer Service Position Description: Customer Service Agent – Ocean Freight Forwarding (On-Site) *Minimum of 2 years of ocean freight forwarding experience REQUIRED* Pay: $23.00 - $24.00 Commensurate with experience Job Type: Full-time, Non-Exempt Schedule: Monday–Friday Location: On-site (single location) Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Customer Service Agent with ocean freight forwarding experience to support our growing logistics operations. This role serves as the primary customer contact, handling shipment inquiries, booking requests, and issue resolution in a fast-paced call center environment. The position also provides receptionist and front desk support as needed. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Handle inbound customer calls and emails related to ocean freight shipments Resolve billing inquiries, POD requests, shipment tracing, and service issues Enter and manage shipment bookings accurately Coordinate shipment pickups with trucking partners and carriers Communicate with internal teams to ensure customer instructions are met Investigate discrepancies and escalate issues when necessary Provide receptionist/front desk coverage when needed Required & Preferred Qualifications: Minimum 2 years of ocean freight forwarding experience (required) Ocean freight forwarding and trucking experience preferred 3+ years of customer service experience (call center and/or receptionist) Strong phone communication and customer service skills Excellent attention to detail and time management Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment Strong attendance and reliability Proficiency with computers and internal systems (Google Workspace, Smartsheet, FreshDesk preferred) Benefits & Compensation: Competitive pay based on experience Annual merit reviews Discretionary annual bonus 401(k) with 20% company contribution HSA with employer contributions Free medical & dental insurance for employees Vision insurance Paid time off (vacation & sick) Life insurance, long-term disability & EAP (company paid) FSA & voluntary benefits Milestone Years of Service bonuses Our Values: Dependable • Integrity • Accountability • Innovation • Environmental Responsibility • Ohana Spirit Our core values are the foundation of who we are and how we operate.
