Job Summary
Responsible for managing activities related to open purchase orders, receiving shipments, confirming order accuracy, resolving discrepancies, and following up with vendors on pricing, quantities, availability, and shipping dates. Coordinates with vendors and internal departments to address issues affecting order fulfillment and maintain accurate purchasing information. Identifies recurring issues and opportunities to improve, streamline, and automate expediting processes.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Contacting vendors regarding pricing differences, quantity corrections and pending shipments.
- Maintaining existing inventory and adding new items.
- Processing documents pertinent to purchase orders.
- Responding to customers requesting information on pending orders.
- Daily scanning of completed purchase orders into the electronic filing system.
- Correct/Adjust internal or external discrepancies with purchase orders and seek out solutions to minimize future inconsistencies.
- Identify opportunities to streamline, improve or automate expediting processes.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products and willingness to learn the programs within our company operating system.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of expediting activities.
- Ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
Experience/Qualifications:
- Degree from an accredited college with a major in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Logistics or related field.
- 3 years of related experience in purchasing, expediting, supply chain or order management.
- Experience working with ERP and purchasing systems preferred.
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
