Head Varsity Boys Basketball Coach

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Head Varsity Boys Basketball Coach to lead our school's basketball program. This role requires a passionate individual who can develop student-athletes both on and off the court, fostering teamwork, spirituality, discipline, and sportsmanship. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sports coaching and working with youth athletes. This position offers an opportunity to inspire students through sports while promoting healthy development and character building.

Duties

• Plan and implement comprehensive basketball training sessions and game strategies
• Lead team practices, drills, and conditioning exercises to improve athletic skills
• Foster a positive team environment emphasizing sportsmanship, teamwork, and discipline
• Manage team logistics including scheduling games, transportation, and equipment maintenance
• Mentor student-athletes in personal development, behavior management, and academic responsibilities
• Coordinate with school administration to ensure compliance with policies and regulations
• Promote school spirit by encouraging student participation in basketball events and community outreach
• Oversee recruitment of players and assist in developing individual athletic potential

Qualifications

• Prior experience in sports coaching, particularly basketball
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students of diverse backgrounds and skill levels
• Strong knowledge of athletic training techniques, game rules, and safety protocols
• Experience working with children or adolescents in educational or extracurricular settings
• Skills in behavior management, motivation, and leadership development
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to foster a positive team culture
