Job Summary
Morning shift - 6:00 AM to 8AM (Monday to Friday)
Afternoon shift - Athletic transportation, as needed
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Bus Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing safe and reliable transportation for passengers. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to manage behavior effectively while ensuring a positive experience for all passengers.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a bus to transport passengers to designated locations.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all passengers during transit.
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle, performing routine inspections and maintenance checks.
- Communicate effectively with passengers and parents regarding schedules, routes, and any changes.
- Manage behavior of passengers, particularly children, to ensure a respectful and safe environment.
- Educate passengers on safety protocols and proper conduct while on the bus.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving.
- Document any incidents or issues that arise during transport.
Qualifications
- *Minimum of Class C Commercial Driver License (CDL) in addition to basic New Jersey driver license
- *21 years of age with a minimum of 1 year of commercial driving experience
- *Have at least 20/40 vision in each eye (with or without corrective lenses)
- *Be able to recognize red, green and amber colors
- *Copy of a recent physical*Criminal history background check will be obtained through fingerprint scanning process
- Strong communication skills in English.
- Ability to manage behavior effectively and maintain a calm demeanor in various situations.
- Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance and safety procedures.
- Must pass background checks and drug screenings as required by policy.
