Description of Work Pending OSHR Approval The position serves as the Chief of Staff to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles, providing strategic coordination and managerial support of the administration of major functions within the DMV during a period of significant transformation. This role has responsibility for key components of the NCDMV Strategic Plan which will establish the Division as a modernized, data-driven, employee-empowered organization committed to customer service excellence. Work is performed independently under the supervision of the DMV Chief Operating Officer and involves organizational development and planning, operational support and problem-solving, project leadership, programmatic and policy review, regulatory compliance, budget analysis, and other related responsibilities as required. This position serves on the NCDMV leadership team and functions as a liaison between NCDMV senior management and the public, Legislators, and other stakeholders. Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and three (3) years of experience in the program related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
