What we do:
Senior Technician - Assistant Office Manager Duties:
- Assists the Driver License Office Manager to adjust resources and personnel, as needed, for maximum effectiveness;
- Provide input and assist with annual Performance Plan evaluations; as well as quarterly; mid-year; and final employee performance evaluations. May also be required to discuss employee performance matters and prepare documentation;
- Provide day to day supervision, including coaching and conflict resolution
- Handles and resolves escalated customer complaints;
- Processes complicated, or more difficult applications;
- Operates as the floor lead, relieving employees for breaks; monitors work flow; monitors employee schedules, etc.;
- Assist with accounting duties, such as: daily deposit, reconciling employee cash/credit card receipts; verification of funds; employee cashiering;
- Performs all functions of line staff, including issuing documents, when business dictates.
- May stand for long periods of time.
May be required to travel to another Driver License Office (DLO) to assist with daily operations.

Minimum Qualifications
Must meet one of the following or any combination of experience/education to meet the qualifications:
Experience:
Four (4) years of work experience in a public-facing role, technical customer-service role, or customer service in a regulatory environment.
OR
Education and Experience:

Preferred Qualifications
- Direct supervisory experience leading a workforce interacting with the general public
- Department management experience, establishing performance goals and evaluating workforce performance
- Experience in coaching and conflict management
- Experience in a regulatory environment or technical customer service workplace serving the general public
- Intermediate to advanced computer and data entry skills
- Driver License Fundamentals (DLF) Certified
DOR Required Skills and Competencies: Competencies required for all DOR positions include good communications skills, interpersonal and people management skills, the ability to multitask, the ability to work with confidential information, the ability to work in high-stress environments, and the demonstrated ability to assist customers.
Conditions of Employment with the CDOR:
Pursuant to the Universal Driving Standards Policy (Download PDF reader), any worker who will be expected to drive a State-owned vehicle is responsible for maintaining a safe driving record and a valid driver license prior to driving any State-owned vehicle.
To be compliant with the new fleet vehicle policy, Motor Vehicle Records (MVRs) will be pulled for review for workers who:
- Have an assigned State fleet vehicle
- Are required to operate a vehicle as part of the position
- Utilize a State fleet vehicle as a pool vehicle
