CalRecycle is looking for a Supervisor I who is self-motivated, creative, and customer focused to provide leadership to staff. Under the direction of the Supervisor II , the Supervisor I will supervise a team of professional staff in the Payments and Reporting Section within the Financial Analysis and Policy Development Branch. The Supervisor I will establish guidelines, plan, organize, and monitor the activities of the Payments and Reporting Section, including the development and execution of the work by scheduling and conducting statistical analysis related to beverage container related data and programs.

The incumbent may be required to independently travel overnight to program sites and events. Incumbent must have and maintain a current valid California driver's license, be able to travel via various means of public transportation methods, including, but not limited to commercial airlines, public shuttles, shared rental cars, etc. and participate in the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Employer Pull Notice Program.

The Supervisor I will travel to survey sites to conduct fieldwork, perform surveys, and collect data. Travel may include extended periods (4 to 5 days at a time) requiring overnight accommodations and weekend assignments, not to exceed 35 percent per year. The Supervisor I may be required to act in the absence of the Supervisor II.

This position may be eligible for hybrid telework under Government Code 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California, subject to the candidate meeting telework eligibility criteria set forth in the CalEPA telework policy and/or future program need. Employees not residing in California are not eligible for telework. Regardless of telework eligibility, all employees may be required to report to the position’s designated headquarters location, as indicated on their duty statement, at their own expense. Beginning July 1st, 2026, it is anticipated the position will be office-centered and employees will be expected to report to the office at least four days per week.
