Job Description and Duties

This position is located in the city of Stockton.

Under the direct supervision of the DOS Supervisor I, the Support Services Assistant General (SSA-G) is responsible to provide reasonable accommodation (RA) related support to Department of Rehabilitation (DOR) staff who rely on such support to successfully perform their essential job functions. The SSA-G is responsible to perform the following essential job functions in support of the staff they are assisting: Pull, lift, and carry case files up to 4lbs. Collect and distribute materials as needed; Filing to maintain case files organized and up to date; Typing and data entry; performs other work-related duties as appropriate.

Essential Job Functions:

Provide assistance to DOR staff with handling consumer case files including lifting, carrying, moving files up to 4 lbs. Maintain physical files in an organized manner, alphabetically, so they are up to date and easily located. Maintain electronic files in the Aware system. Collect, upload and file various forms and documents, accurately and timely. May also assist with collection, distribution of other various materials as needed. Provide light clerical related assistance to DOR staff, such copying, scanning, collating, Collect and deliver copies from the printer, fax and mailbox. Prepare and deliver files and other documents for case reviews by the SSMI. Data entry in Aware.

Multiple vacancies may exist.

Under Government Code 14200, this position is a hybrid, in-office/telework position, and may be subject to change. Incumbent must live and work in California. Incumbent can be required to report to the office, or any designated location at any time. Telework agreements can be modified and/or cancelled at any time.

Working Conditions

Permanent Intermittent employees are not allowed to work more than 1500 hours in a calendar year. The anticipated time worked will be 125 hours per month. If selected, the employee will receive an hourly compensation based on the number of hours worked.

The majority of the work will take place in one of the following locations with consumers, the public, colleagues, and other stakeholders: a DOR open office setting in a cubicle environment, offsite in the community, at events and various partner locations, and/or at an approved alternate work location. The incumbent must have the ability to work in an office setting for up to 40 hours per week and remain at a workstation for extended periods while utilizing a personal computer, peripherals, and other office equipment with or without accommodation. The incumbent will be working in an office setting with both natural and artificial lighting. Strong interpersonal skills are required to interact effectively with consumers, the public, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
