What are the responsibilities and job description for the FISH AND WILDLIFE SCIENTIFIC AID position at Department of Fish and Wildlife?
Please consider joining our team of scientists in Siskiyou County. These temporary field positions are an excellent way for those interested in the field of fisheries to work with anadromous and inland fish in the Klamath Basin. You would be working with a team of scientists and other seasonal employees conducting juvenile trapping surveys, snorkel surveys, stream habitat assessments, and report writing. We are looking for candidates that have solid writing and math skills; and knowledge of ecological principles, species identification, and data management. These staff will have an opportunity to work with a wide range of special interest groups including local, State and Federal governmental agencies, tribes, conservation groups and private landowners. Many of the people who have taken these positions have gained enough experience to compete for permanent jobs in the government, tribal and private sectors.
