Job Description
DOF’s Administration and Planning Division is responsible for managing and overseeing administrative and operational services for the agency. This includes the daily management of the Offices of Financial Management, Purchasing and Contracts, Operational Services, and Diversity and Inclusion.
The Office of Operational Services coordinates and directs all facilities-related operational support services for both public and privately leased properties agency-wide, including space planning, telecommunications, security, fire safety, health and safety, and fleet and transportation operations. The division also includes the agency warehouse, print shop, and mailroom operations.
The Facilities Management Unit is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Laborer to assist in the installation of modular furniture, maintenance of furniture inventory, and perform minor office repairs not requiring a licensed tradesman.
Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Under supervision, assist with moving heavy materials and objects, between agency offices.
- Organize and execute tasks following scheduling prioritization.
- Transport materials and assist with the installation of heavy equipment, computers, appliances and furniture.
- Respond to a variety of facility work order requests such as lock repair, floor repair, and sit-stand desk installation.
- Assist with cleaning after installation jobs.
- Operate agency vehicles.
Additional Information:
In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire. May be required to involuntary overtime for evening and weekend projects.

Minimum Qualifications
1. There are no formal education or experience requirements for this position.
2. There are certain medical and physical requirements.
License Requirements
Possession of a Motor Vehicle Driver License valid in the State of New York.
Preferred Skills
-Computer skills to access agency's work order and inventory systems. -Knowledge of Herman Miller system furniture. -Basic knowledge of power tool use.

Residency Requirement
New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment.
