At the Oregon Department of Administrative Services (DAS), we’re the backbone that keeps state government running. Our Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) division oversees the state’s buildings, vehicles, and surplus property. We help agencies manage their space, travel, and operational needs with care and efficiency.
As the Receptionist, you’ll be the first point of contact for visitors, staff, and contractors at the General Services Building. You’ll also support our facilities team by managing service requests, coordinating building access, and helping with administrative tasks.
What You’ll Do
Every day brings variety! In this role, you will:
  • Welcome and assist visitors, staff, and contractors with professionalism and care.
  • Answer and direct calls, manage mail and packages, and schedule meeting rooms.
  • Enter and track maintenance requests, key cards, and building access needs.
  • Respond to safety or security issues and support emergency personnel when needed.
  • Maintain contact lists, building alerts, and flag notifications.
  • Provide general administrative support to the Operations and Maintenance team.

What We Are Looking For
Minimum Qualifications:
Two years of general clerical experience that includes keyboarding, word processing, or other experience generating documents;
OR
An associate degree in any field;
OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Attributes:
  • Demonstrated experience providing customer service by responding to inquiries with professionalism, courtesy, and accuracy.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and frequent interruptions while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional during emergencies or sensitive situations.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications, email, and multi-line phone systems to support daily operations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion and integrity.
  • Ability to make independent decisions and resolve problems using sound judgment and established procedures.

  • This recruitment is for 1 Office Specialist 2 position and may be used to fill future vacancies.
    • The salary listed is the non-PERS qualifying salary range. If the successful candidate is PERS qualifying, the salary range will reflect the additional 6.95%.
