Job Description

The Virginia Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) protects the public by preparing court-involved youth to be successful citizens. DJJ is committed to excellence in public safety by providing effective interventions that improve the lives of youth, strengthening both families and communities within the Commonwealth.

The Graphic Imaging Technology Teacher will provide quality educational programs through sound instruction to meet the individual needs of students, as well as the standards defined under the Commonwealth’s statutes and program certification requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications or related field; or at least two years of successful full-time or equivalent occupational experience within the past five years in the teaching specialty for which the candidate is seeking endorsement.

Licensure: Must possess or be eligible for a Virginia Teaching License with an endorsement in Graphic Imaging Technology.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience: Experience teaching Graphic Imaging Technology or related subject in a secondary setting preferred.
