What are the responsibilities and job description for the OFFICE TECHNICIAN (TYPING) position at Department of Justice?
Under the immediate supervision of either a Business Service Officer I or II, the OT (T) on the Flexible Administrative Support Team (FAST) performs a variety of clerical and administrative duties which may be on a daily flexible or rotational basis to support the business service functions necessary to ensure the smooth operations of San Diego Attorney General’s Legal Office. FAST OT (T) interacts with Departmental staff and the public in person.
The positions duties may include performing the following responsibilities in a team environment:
- Reception duties such as answer incoming phone calls, provide information on State services and programs and assist Service Deputies by receiving legal documents.
- Facilities Services duties such as follow up on status of building maintenance requests, handle the set-up of tables, chairs, and media for meetings; and respond to copier and printer jams.
- LiveScan Operator fingerprints potential new hire candidates and vendors.
- Assist with installations, changes and repairs to VOIP telephones lines and equipment.
- Conducts detailed ergonomic evaluations; initiates purchase of ergonomic equipment and furniture as required, and files documentation with Risk Management.
- Acts as liaison between the Office of Human Resources (OHR) and local employees related to benefits and timekeeping.
- Prepares documentation to reconcile check balances to be deposited.
- Maintains transit and parking records related to employee parking applications/cancellations. Liaises with transit and parking vendors and prepares correspondence.
- Distributes incoming mail, collects outgoing mail, affix postage and deposits mail at correct sites, and processes intra-office mail. Operates complex mail room equipment.
- Fulfills office supply requests, respond to employees. Maintains stock in supply room and informs supervisor when supplies are needed.
- Purchasing duties such as contact various vendors to obtain prices and obtain bids for supplies and equipment. Handle timely payment of invoices for goods and services.
