Job Overview
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and energetic Paint Quality Inspector for the 2nd shift to ensure the highest standards of paint application and finishing quality in our manufacturing process. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting painted components, verifying adherence to quality specifications, and maintaining rigorous quality systems. Your keen eye for detail, strong analysis skills, and familiarity with industry standards will help us deliver exceptional products that meet or exceed customer expectations. Hours are 4:30 PM-3:00 AM M-Th with regular OT on Fridays.
Duties
- Conduct thorough visual and dimensional inspections of painted parts using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, vision inspection systems, and coordinate measuring machines to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Perform quality audits in accordance with ISO 9001 standards to maintain compliance and identify areas for improvement.
- Verify that paint finishes meet color consistency, adhesion, thickness, gloss levels, and surface smoothness criteria through detailed analysis and testing.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to address non-conformances promptly, implementing corrective actions aligned with quality management systems.
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, test results, and quality issues for traceability and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support calibration and maintenance of precision measuring instruments to ensure measurement accuracy during inspections.
Experience
- Proven experience in a manufacturing environment performing quality control or quality inspection roles within industries such as automotive, or similar sectors.
- Hands-on knowledge of quality systems including ISO 9001.
- Familiarity with calibration procedures for precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, vision inspection systems, and coordinate measuring machines.
- Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret data collected during inspections and identify root causes of quality issues.
- Experience conducting internal or external quality audits to ensure compliance with industry standards.
