Dental Sterilization Technician

In this vital role, you will be responsible for sterilizing, decontaminating, and preparing dental instruments and equipment to support smooth clinical operations. Responsibilities

• Perform decontamination of used dental instruments and equipment using approved sterilization techniques and medical equipment sterilization procedures
• Assemble, inspect, and package sterile instruments following strict aseptic techniques and infection prevention management protocols
• Operate sterilizers, ultrasonic cleaners, endoscope reprocessing units, and other medical equipment with precision and adherence to manufacturer guidelines
• Manage inventory levels of sterile supplies, ensuring proper storage, labeling, and documentation for efficient workflow
• Maintain detailed records of sterilization cycles, instrument tracking, and quality assurance processes in compliance with healthcare standards
• Follow established infection control policies to prevent cross-contamination and ensure compliance with healthcare infection prevention and control regulations
• Assist with the reprocessing of specialized surgical instruments, including endoscopes, ensuring proper handling and sterilization procedures are followed

Requirements

• Prior experience in sterile processing or medical instrument assembly and packaging is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for qualified candidates
• Familiarity with infection control practices, aseptic technique, and surgical instrument sterilization standards is highly desirable
• Ability to operate medical equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to strict safety protocols
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage inventory accurately and maintain detailed documentation
• Excellent attention to detail, reliability, and commitment to maintaining a sterile environment in accordance with healthcare regulations

What We're Looking For:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior experience in dental, medical, or sterile processing preferred (not always required — we're happy to train the right person)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict protocols
• Reliable, punctual, and comfortable in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Sterilization certification (e.g., DANB CDIPC) a plus
