Job Summary: The Equipment Intern will be responsible for assisting with duties of the equipment department to help it run successfully during training camp and the regular football season

Duration: This is a seasonal internship running July 2026 through February 2027 (exact start date to be determined)

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain good communication and working relationship with other departments (training, video, ops, strength, personnel, PR, grounds, etc.)
  • Assist in distribution and maintenance of equipment on a daily basis
  • Assist coaching staff during all practices, including set up and maintenance of field equipment, drill work and ball spotting
  • Maintain a working knowledge of equipment technologies to facilitate in repair and maintenance of said equipment
  • Ability to repair torn or damaged equipment or send out for repair as needed
  • Maintain efficient daily laundry process of player, staff and administrative apparel
  • Assist in packing and restocking of equipment each week for appropriate game day conditions
  • Assist in transportation of equipment to and from all training camp and game day sites, including loading and unloading of trucks and planes
  • Assist in maintaining accurate size records for all players and staff
  • Learn and maintain a basic working knowledge of NFL rules on equipment related policies
  • Learning the basics of data entry and scanning of protective equipment to aid in injury tracking for the NFL

Minimum Requirements

  • Recent equipment experience in a college equipment room
  • Minimum 1 year football experience required 
  • 2-3 years combined (college and/or other NFL Team) football equipment experience preferred 
  • Cover letter, resume and references must be submitted at time of application

Preferred Skills & Ability

  • Professional Certification from AEMA or comparable Equipment organization preferred
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with fellow interns and ball boys in accordance with organization’s policies and applicable laws
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and maintenance instructions
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Ability to operate any number of different technologies that relate to use and maintenance of equipment and execution of practices and games
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situation

In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the expected salary for this position is $19.29/hour.
