POSITION SUMMARY 

The Associate Director of Clinical Support provides leadership and oversight for the Clinical Support Supervisors and Specialists within The Crossing’s Transitional Program. This position is accountable for ensuring high-quality service delivery, compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards, and effective integration of Clinical Support with program operations.  

The Associate Director develops site-level plans, manages staff resources, and implements organizational priorities that strengthen the Transitional Program. The role exercises moderate independence in operational decision-making and supports the Senior Director of Shelters & Clinical Support in advancing program goals. 


RESPONSIBILITIES 

Operations and Administrative Duties 

  • Provide oversight for ongoing analysis of staffing patterns, including coordinating coverage as needed for day, evening, and overnight shifts; make site-level staffing and scheduling decisions to meet program demands. 
  • Collaborate with the Hospitality Desk Team to ensure seamless coordination between Operations and Clinical departments at the site. 
  • Manage programmatic move-ins, ensuring all documentation, compliance folders, and room placements are properly handled. 
  • Maintain data quality in Scribe, including intake documentation, background checks, and Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) processes. 
  • Ensure that rooms are assigned in compliance with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) requirements. 
  • Lead audits in tandem with the Senior Director of Shelters & Clinical Support and The Crossing site leadership; implement corrective actions and follow-up. 
  • Ensure overall facility safety and security as (or through) the Safety Coordinator and address maintenance issues promptly; partner with Operations to resolve site needs. 
  • Direct the Clinical Support team in utilizing de-escalation techniques and track mandatory training to ensure completion and documentation. 
  • Ensure the facility perimeter is free from loitering and encampments, coordinating with staff and outside resources as needed. 
  • Assist with events, coordinate with outside agencies, and help interview and schedule Change Makers with the director. 
  • Maintain working knowledge of Scribe, HMIS database, and facility policies and procedures; ensure proper use and accurate reporting. 
  • Contribute to site planning, budgeting input, and resource allocation for the clinical support function; monitor expenditures against plan and recommend adjustments as needed. 
  • Develop and implement site-level procedures and job aids that align with DRM policy and program goals; recommend policy updates in area of responsibility. 

Supervision of Staff 

  • Provide leadership to Clinical Support Supervisors and Specialists, including overnight staff; address concerns with the Senior Director as appropriate. 
  • Conduct monthly training sessions with the Senior Director and assign specific training for staff development; ensure training content is completed and applied. 
  • Schedule shifts to ensure adequate coverage and hold individual performance meetings to review expectations and outcomes. 
  • Conduct employee reviews and address performance issues in accordance with DRM policies and procedures; coach supervisors on documentation and follow-through. 
  • Approve timecards and time off; manage and review instances of overtime, missed shifts, and early departures to maintain operational continuity. 
  • Model decision-making and problem-solving for somewhat complex issues; guide supervisors in adapting established approaches to unique circumstances. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Business, Education, or a related field; a combination of education and experience may be substituted. 
  • 3 years of managerial experience, or 5 years of supervisory experience. 
  • Experience within shelter, clinical support, or human services settings preferred. 
  • Certified Addictions Specialist (CAS) preferred. 
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage, develop, and train supervisors and professional staff. 
  • Self-starter, highly adaptable, and receptive to feedback. 
  • Maintain appropriate boundaries in a support services environment. 
  • Strong computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). 
  • This position requires a standard 40-hour work week with flexibility to cover peak activity times, including some evenings and Saturdays, in support of a 24/7/365 operation. 
  • Active driver’s license: a limited amount of work-related travel may be required. 
  • Must be a Christian holding to the beliefs set forth in the Statement of Faith, expressed by personal testimony and Christian conduct.

Salary : $64,800 - $86,400
