Craft Beer Tour Guide

We are seeking a personable, professional tour guide to offer our guests an exceptional experience while visiting Denver and its breweries. In this role, you will be responsible for engaging guests in an informative and interactive manner, and ensuring that their time on the Denver Microbrew Tour is the most fun they have all weekend. You will provide a wealth of information regarding our beer, the brewing process, Denver and its history and answer any questions our guests might have to the very best of your ability.

Tour Guide Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead groups of up to 25 people (generally more like 12-15ppl) on walking tours of downtown Denver and its breweries
• Greet all guests promptly at scheduled tour times
• Outline the tour and timeline before beginning
• Clearly and articulately provide information to guests in an engaging manner
• Answer any questions that the guests have
• Demonstrate extensive knowledge of beer and the city of Denver at all times.
• Remain calm, friendly, and enthusiastic at all times
• Deescalate any tension with difficult guests
• Escort guests through the tour, taking breaks as needed
• Keep the tour moving on schedule while still being considerate to guests
• Know all safety and security protocols, should they be needed

Tour Guide Requirements

• A passion for beer and the city of Denver, and an interest in sharing your knowledge!
• Enthusiastic, engaging, and informative way of speaking.
• Experience with public speaking
• Desire to learn, both on and off the job.
• Significant work experience in restaurants or customer service positions
• Ability to memorize and recite facts clearly and accurately
• Fluent in English; bilingual a plus
• Exceptional verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Basic computer skills, including texting, email, and word processing
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree is a plus
• TIPS certification (can obtain once hired)

Nice to Have:

• Certified Cicerone or Certified Beer Server certifications
• BJCP Judge
• On-stage Acting Experience

Compensation:
Starting at $18.50 per hour tips.

Hours:
We're currently looking for team members to join our contractor network. As a member of our contractor network, you'll be eligible :

• work corporate beer tasting events when available ($32.50 per hour for these events)
• help with large tour events (significant gratuity included (total rate for these events may exceed $50 per hour)
• act as a back up tour guide, and be able to choose shifts that fit your schedule with no minimum commitment
• you'll be first in line when we do need new regularly scheduled tour guide employees.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $19.00 - $50.00 per hour
