Full Job Description
Provide a safe environment for clients and staff. Provide effective behavioral management techniques and crisis intervention approaches to de-escalate clients in crisis and return them to daytime milieu or classroom.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
- Responsible for overall building management required to ensure safety.
- Ensures therapeutic interventions are provided to clients in distress or crisis.
- Supervises and verifies accuracy of Critical Incident Reporting and Internal Incident Reporting and signs and submits these reports.
- Ensures the provision of transportation for clients as needed.
- Completes timely, efficient and accurate documentation in record keeping system.
- Supervises the creation of positive and effective behavioral management interventions consistent with treatment plans.
- Supports staff in using lower level interventions.
- Ensures that all staff is aware of building, transportation and all other policies/procedures.
- Assumes charge of building when assigned as TS on Duty and/or support if alternate TS is assigned this responsibility.
- Provide support/assistance with medication management, meal distribution, attendance, and scheduling as needed.
- Completes suspension documentation when appropriate.
- Provides and documents weekly supervisions with counselors/paraprofessionals.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $53,000.00 per year

Qualifications:
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education and/or Experience
- Minimum BA
- 2 yrs minimum experience working with clients with significant emotional disabilities
- Supervisory experience preferred or 4 yrs working in a mental health setting and prior supervisory experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong ability to multi-task, problem solve and make timely decisions
- Strong crisis management and therapeutic intervention skills for clients who may be in distress or crisis
- Ability to communicate effectively with the team, clients, parents, and outside professionals
- Necessary knowledge and skills to be able to appropriately implement behavior management interventions
- Counseling and assessment skills that demonstrate knowledge of adolescent development and pathology and rationale for therapeutic interventions
- Detail-oriented while maintaining focus on larger system needs
- Ability and willingness to work as part of a team and engage in positive conflict resolution
- Strong interpersonal skills to support and supervise staff
Other Requirements
- Valid Driver’s license
- Good driving record that qualifies for DCH insurance coverage
- Pass the agency’s driver certification
- Meet all Colorado Department of Human Services regulations regarding health and safety of staff
- QMAP trained or able to successfully complete QMAP training
- Therapeutic Crisis Intervention trained or able to successfully complete TCI training
- First Aid and CPR trained or able to successfully complete first aid and CPR training
