Legal Secretary
Provides administrative support to one or more attorneys in the Shoals office.
- Produces information by transcribing, formatting, inputting, editing, retrieving, copying, and transmitting text, data, and graphics.
- Performs e-filing of legal documents.
- Drafts and revises legal documents such as briefs, pleadings and other correspondence.
- Assists the attorneys by reading, researching, reviewing, verifying, and routing correspondence, reports and legal documents; collecting and analyzing information; coordinating preparation of charts, graphs, and other necessary visuals.
- Initiates telecommunications; organizing client conferences, and attorney meetings;
- Maintains attorney calendar by planning and scheduling conferences, teleconferences, dispositions, and travel.
- Assists in tracking deadlines for court filings.
- Represents attorney by communicating and obtaining information; following-up on delegated assignments.
- Assists with inputting attorney billable time and reimbursable expenses; preparing invoices; tracking payments.
- Prepares binders of legal documents; updates database of client data.
- Tracks stock of office supplies and inventory
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience is required.
- Minimum of two years previous related experience required.
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must have excellent organizational skills and be detail-oriented.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft applications.
